Stormwater and Flooding

Stormwater is runoff from rain that flows through our yards, streets and parking lots, picking up pollutants along the way. These pollutants could be soil, gravel, chemicals, paint, even trash. The stormwater enters our storm system, sometimes flowing through ponds in our neighborhoods before it ends up in Tampa Bay, the Intercoastal Waterway, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Since Clearwater is a coastal city, it is even more important that pollutants are prevented from entering the stormwater system and flow into major waterbodies.
