Doing Business in Clearwater

• All businesses located within the city limits of Clearwater shall obtain a Business Tax Receipt prior to the commencement of business or the practice of a profession.



• All businesses located outside the city limits of Clearwater who desire to transact business in the City of Clearwater are required to register.



• License year is October 1 to September 30 of the following year.



• Renewal Period begins August 1, licenses not renewed on or before September 30 shall pay a late fee.

What You Will Need to Apply:

• New Business License



• Confirm your business address is located within the city limits of Clearwater through the Pinellas County Property Appraiser’s office, 727-464-3207or pao.co.pinellas.fl.us



• Fictitious name registration, if your business name does not contain your legal name (first and last name) and is not exempt from filing by 865.09(7) F.S., www.sunbiz.org



• Corporation filing with the State of Florida, if your business name is INC, TM, LP or LLC, www.sunbiz.org



• Pinellas County Certification or State License, for contractors, www.pcclb.com or www.myflorida.com



• State License or Inspection Report, for restaurants or food service businesses and professionals licensed by the state, www.myflorida.com or www.800helpfla.com



• Proof of insurance, if operating a taxi, limo, or bus service, with the City of Clearwater listed as an additional insured party.



• Business Registration
  Copy of Business Tax Receipt issued by county or city where your office is located.



• Pinellas County Certification or State License, for contractors, www.pcclb.com or www.myflorida.com
