Environmental Management

The Environmental Management section of Environmental and Stormwater Management administers the programs for the protection and maintenance of Clearwater's surface water resources and natural resources. Programs consist of the planning, design, and development of projects for water quality improvement, habitat restoration and enhancement, flood control and erosion and sedimentation control and to meet City, State and Federal levels of service. The section seeks alternate funding for projects, administers the National Pollutant Discharge System Municipal Separate Stormwater System (NPDES) permit, reviews site plans, and acquires state mandated environmental permits. Providing assistance to the public and City Departments related to hazardous waste management, pollutant storage tanks and related State and Federal reporting requirements is also an integral part of services provided by this section.
