Underground Trash and Recycling Vaults
Clearwater’s underground refuse systems store trash and recycling 12 feet under the ground.
They are upside-down trash and recycling containers that help keep refuse away from beach visitors, the wind, and rain. They also keep trash and recycling from spilling over to the ground, blowing around the beach and becoming unsightly litter. Vaults are located throughout Clearwater Beach, Coachman Park, BayCare Ballpark, and other locations throughout the city.
Clearwater is all about being bright and beautiful, and these vaults reduce litter and help keep it out-of-sign and out-of-mind.
