CanceledShred-a-Thon and Operation Medicine Cabinet Take-Back
CANCELED: The shredding and prescription drug takeback event scheduled for Oct. 26 at Countryside Mall has been canceled. The Clearwater Police Department and the city’s Solid Waste Department continue to commit many of their resources to the ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.
The Clearwater Police and Solid Waste departments join forces once again to keep our community safe. Police officers and solid waste workers will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, in the Countryside Mall parking lot, 27001 U.S. 19 N. near Whole Foods, to collect and shred documents with sensitive information for Clearwater residents.
This community event is for personal use only; there is a limit of 10 boxes of materials to shred per vehicle. Documents are shredded on-site by a certified vendor, and the paper is recycled. In addition, Clearwater Police Department also will accept old, unused or expired prescription medications at the same time, as part of a nationwide Operation Medicine Cabinet. Do not bring needles, vapes and e-cigarettes; they will not be accepted.
If you have questions, reach out to Clearwater Police Department at (727) 562-4242 or Clearwater Solid Waste at (727) 562-4920.
