Road Construction

  • The southbound lane of the Bypass Bridge between Overbrook Avenue, and Harbor Drive will be closed April 7 and 8, while crews repair damaged curbs. Traffic will be detoured.
  • The southbound US 19 exit ramp to Drew Street will close nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning March 9, through late 2025. During the nighttime closure, motorists will need to exit at Frontage Road, toward Northeast Coachman Road. To reach Drew Street, motorists should turn right onto Northeast Coachmen road, left to Belcher Road, then proceed south toward Drew Street. Click here for more information on the FDOT project.
  • North- and south-bound median lanes of Island Way, between Skiff Point and Dory Passage, will be closed for approximately eight months. The project started in August 2024 and will run through May 2025. The closure is due to the replacement of an iron-cast water main along with other underground utility work. Flaggers will be present at times, so expect some traffic delays.

Pedestrian Trail Impacts

  • The south side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway pedestrian trail closed to pedestrian traffic from Bayshore Boulevard to Dr. Kiran C. Patel Boulevard, through late 2025, weather permitting. This closure is necessary for crews to construct the pedestrian overpass over Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard east of Bayshore Boulevard, connecting the Bayshore Trail and the Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail. Construction activities are expected to finish in late 2026.
