Ed Wright Park
Ed Wright Park is located in the Lake Belleview neighborhood area. The land was donated by Ed Wright in 1964 and officially dedicated as a place of beauty and recreation for the citizens of Clearwater in a ceremony on Jan. 14, 1965.
The park sits along the banks of Lake Belleview and is surrounded by large oak trees. It is directly across the lake from Ross Norton Recreation and Aquatic Complex. Visitors can enjoy fishing and walking trails.
There is one tennis court and one dual tennis/pickleball court.
The park is home to the Plumb House, built in 1896 and originally located on Lakeview Road and Ft. Harrison Ave. Jennie Reynolds Plumb was the first teacher in Clearwater and lived there. The house was moved to the park in 1983 and dedicated as a permanent museum in 1985.
The Clearwater Horseshoe Club, established in 1916, holds National Horseshoe Pitching Association sanctioned and non-sanctioned league play at the 18 covered, lighted, blue clay courts located at the park. Horseshoe pitching is a family-oriented sport open to men, women, and youth, and provides exercise through walking, bending or squatting, and reaching and stretching to deliver the approximately 2½ pound horseshoe.
