All programs begin promptly at their scheduled start time. 
If participants arrive late, they may not be permitted to enter the class or program.

Aging Well Information and Resources

Program Information

The Clearwater Office on Aging offers diverse programs through the Aging Well Center and other city sites to promote health and wellness, education, creative expression and community resources.

The Clearwater Office on Aging serves as a resource to the community for aging-related information, support for family caregivers, training professionals, community leaders and students; and for developing innovative approaches to address aging issues.

In the area of Health and wellness, the city offers extensive evidence-based programs for older adults that provide proven ways through defined research to promote wellness and manage or reduce falls and health concerns.

The Aging Well Center is a Tivity Health SilverSneakers® Program location.

Additional City Programs

The city also provides special programs, such as housing assistance, crime prevention and life safety programs, among others.

62 Plus Program

The city of Clearwater Utility Customer Service department offers the "62 Plus Program" to assist seniors and customers who are disabled and on a fixed income avoid late payment charges on their city of Clearwater utility bills. Call (727) 562-4600.

File of Life Program

Offered by the Office on Aging to city of Clearwater for residents age 50 or older. A File of Life provides critical information to emergency personnel including: name, medications, medical conditions, allergies, blood type, emergency contact and physician's name. File of Life stickers placed at participants' front doors direct emergency personnel to easily accessible folders containing patient data sheet. The packets are free to city residents and available at the Aging Well Center. Bilingual packets are available. Call (727) 724-3070.

Housing Assistance

The city of Clearwater's Housing division provides income-eligible citizens with down payment and closing-cost assistance, rehabilitation loans and assistance with retrofitting homes to increase accessibility. Call (727) 562-4030.

Smoke Alarm Program

Clearwater Fire & Rescue participates in the Smoke Alarm "Giveaway" Program for those Clearwater residents who are unable to purchase an alarm. Smoke alarms can be installed for citizens in need of special assistance. Call (727) 562-4334.

Senior Helpline

The Senior Helpline provided by the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas assists those seeking community services such as caregiver support, case management, in-home services, transportation, insurance counseling, legal help, meal services, nursing home and assisted living facilities, prescription assistance, mental health services or victim advocacy.

  • The Senior Helpline is a free, federally funded service for seniors, those who care for seniors, and adults with mental illness.
  • The Senior Helpline is able to provide information on government-funded programs, non-profit agencies, and for-profit businesses that serve seniors in Pinellas and Pasco counties.
  • Staff provide information and assistance/referral and screening for services over the telephone to seniors and caregivers in Pasco and Pinellas Counties.
  • Florida Relay Service Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired can dial 711 to contact the Senior Helpline for information and assistance.

Healthcare Programs Accepted

All recreation centers accept SilverSneakers, Silver & Fit, Active & Fit, Renew Active, One Pass and Tivity Prime. Eligible members receive an Individual Recreation Card providing free access to the recreation amenities that are not instructor-led i.e., fitness centers, pools, and gymnasiums during hours of operation. Exclusions and restrictions may apply.

SilverSneakers members receive free access to one SilverSneakers Signature class daily. The recreation card may be used at McMullen Tennis Complex and additional fees apply (excluding Tivity Prime members.)
