City Council Appoints Brian Aungst Sr. as Mayor; Schedules Swearing In

The Clearwater City Council appointed former Clearwater Mayor Brian Aungst Sr. to be the mayor of Clearwater at a council meeting earlier this week. He will be sworn in at a special city council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 in Council Chambers at the Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave. 

Aungst Sr. will complete the last 11 months of Frank Hibbard’s mayoral term, whom he resigned from on March 21. Aungst Sr. was previously mayor of Clearwater from 1999 to 2004.
