Clearwater, Fla. - To focus on supporting our community after Hurricane Helene, the city of Clearwater is postponing the groundbreaking ceremony for our new city hall to a later date to be determined. Details will be shared when they become available.

The city is celebrating the groundbreaking of the new city hall Oct. 2 at 10 a.m., 200 S. Myrtle Ave., Downtown Clearwater.

This 40,000-square-foot, 2-story building will house offices for City Council, City Leadership, City Clerk, City Attorney, Human Resources and Public Communications.

The building will have a first-floor, state-of-the-art training room and a second-floor City Council Chambers.

The $31.6 million dollar facility is partially funded by Penny for Pinellas ($6.3 million) and will have a NGBC LEED Silver Certification. The building will be constructed by Ajax Building Company, and it was designed by Wannemacher Jensen Architects.

Parking is located on-site and at the Municipal Services Parking Garage.
