Tara Kivett Receives Award for Engineer of the Year
Published on February 24, 2024
Congratulations to City Engineer Tara Kivett, who recently was recognized as Engineer of the Year by the Florida Engineering Society. She is a professional civil engineer serving local government for more than 26 years. Tara worked for the city of Los Angeles for eight years, took a nine-year break in her career to raise a family, and has been with the city of Clearwater for 19 years, as their City Engineer for the last four years.
Kivett loves working for Clearwater, especially due to the great people, who she learns from every day. She is passionate about sharing her love of engineering, demonstrating this through leadership in the Florida Engineering Society, and by volunteering for MathCounts, the Great American Teach-In, Women in STEM, Future Cities, and other career events at local high schools and St. Petersburg College.
Civil engineers build America’s infrastructure, and she reminds us…the road to success is always under construction!
