Pay-by-Plate Parking

The city of Clearwater is rolling out its new “Pay by Plate” parking system in Clearwater parking lots and garages throughout the city. Pay-by-plate parking kiosks make paying for parking easier and more convenient for patrons.

Patrons will be required to enter their license plate numbers into the new parking kiosk before paying for their time. Users will be guided step-by-step through their parking transactions on the full-color display screens at the updated kiosks. Residents and tourists will no longer have to walk back to their vehicles to place a receipt on the dashboard. Time can be extended at the kiosk with your plate number.

How Does Pay-by-Plate Parking Work?

No Backing In To Parking Spaces

Because the new system uses license-plate-recognition technology, patrons will not be able to back into parking spaces in parking garages. The license plate must be in plain view for enforcement purposes.

Patrons Can Still Use ParkMobile to Pay-by-Plate

Patrons may also pay for their parking via their cell phones using the ParkMobile parking app. In the app, you can extend your parking session without having to walk back to your vehicle. The app also sends notifications and text reminders when your parking session is about to expire. The ParkMobile app is available for download on the App Store for the iPhone, the Google Play Store for Android devices, and the Microsoft Store for Windows phones. Residents who live in Clearwater city limits can sign up to have their transaction fee waived.
